Back and neck pain
Pain that has outlasted two or three weeks of rest, flares with sitting or lifting, or keeps returning in the same place.
Assessment firstMusculoskeletal clinic — North Margin
We treat stubborn joint and muscle pain, post-operative recovery and return-to-sport work. Every patient gets a long first assessment, hands-on treatment and a written plan they can actually follow between visits.
55 minutes to test, explain the findings and agree what happens next.
Manual therapy, dry needling and graded loading in the same session.
A short written plan with sets, reps and the signals to watch for.
01 — Scope
What we treat
These are the presentations we see most weeks. If your problem is not on this list, say so in the enquiry form and we will tell you honestly whether physiotherapy is the right first step.
Pain that has outlasted two or three weeks of rest, flares with sitting or lifting, or keeps returning in the same place.
Assessment firstReaching overhead hurts, you have lost end-range movement, or a gripping task has become painful and weak.
Loading planStairs, hills and the first ten minutes of a run are the problem. Usually a strength and capacity issue rather than damage.
Progressive rehabYou have a surgical protocol and need someone to run it properly — reconstructions, repairs and joint replacements.
Protocol-ledRecurrent calf, hamstring or shin trouble, or a return-to-play decision you would rather not make on your own.
Return to sportNeck, forearm or wrist symptoms tied to a workload rather than an injury, including flare-ups after a change of setup.
Workload review02 — Method
How we work
Manual therapy is useful for getting a painful joint moving again, but it is the loading plan that holds the result. We use both, in that order, and we tell you which part is doing the work.
03 — Sessions
Appointments and fees
Fees are per session and payable on the day. Most people need fewer visits than they expect — we will give you an estimate at the end of the assessment rather than selling a block up front.
Health-fund claiming is available on the spot. Cancellations inside 12 hours are charged at half the session fee.
04 — First visit
Your first visit
Nothing about the first appointment is a surprise. Here is the order it runs in, so you know what to bring and what you will walk out with.
What happened, what makes it worse, what you need to get back to. Bring any scans or surgical notes you have.
Movement, strength and load tolerance measured so there is a baseline to compare against later.
Hands-on work where it helps, then the first version of the loading plan tried in the room.
A short written program, an honest timeline, and the point at which we would reconsider the diagnosis.
Mon to Thu, 7am – 7pm

If yours is not here, add it to the enquiry form and we will answer before confirming anything.
06 — Booking
Request an appointment
Send the form and we will reply with two or three times that suit the appointment you need. If we think another clinician is a better fit, we will say so instead of booking you in.
Please keep clinical detail brief — we will take the full history at your appointment.
